How to Open a Cam Lock?

During the process of opening and closing the door, it is necessary to  hold the lever handle, turn the cam into the lock body, and close the door. Avoid slamming the door at ordinary times, otherwise the service life of the cam lock will reduce.

Because the cam lock is made of metal, wipe it with a wet cloth may cause it rusty and reduce its service life. However, alloy locks are easy to wipe off the coating on the surface, thus affecting the appearance.

Frequently rotate the lock body and cause it to wear. Thus, the body is not so flexible to rotate over time. In order to keep its rotation flexibility and extend its service life, apply lubricant to the transmission part of the lock body regularly.

When it is found that the key is not inserted smoothly during use, a little graphite powder can be added into the plug slot to ensure the key is inserted smoothly. However, it should be noted that oil cannot be added into the plug slot for lubrication, otherwise the grease will stick to the spring and the lock cannot be opened.
A Cam Lock

When you use the cam lock, it is necessary to regularly check the fit clearance between the lock body and the striking plate and the height difference between the cam and the striking plate hole to ensure the proper distance between the two. If the distance is found to be changed, the position of the hinge or striking plate on the door can be adjusted.

When the cam is outside the door, use the key to gently open the lock, and push the door to overcome the elastic force. Meanwhile, avoid violent impact damaging the cam and doorframe.
